The hotel is wonderful and relaxing. the staff is very amiable and customer service is excellent. the location is stunning, situated in a lovely Yorkshire market town. Plus, being next to bars and restaurants in the main square of Helmsley makes dining options convenient. the continental breakfast, including spinach, toast, and a smoked salmon sandwich, is a highlight.

The stay here was pleasant with new layout and more space between tables than on our first visit. This hotel was set in a central area close to the square in Helmsley, Helmsley and centre.

The area was dull.

The a double room I was given was complete with bathroom accessories and sterilised tea and hot drinks. Everything seemed good, clean and the staff were lovely people on customer service something of a rarity. The hotel was in a great and stunning location close to the centre of the picturesque town of Helmsley as well as the bar restaurant and domestic. Also, a rich medieval stone fortress was placed at a small distance.

The hotel provides a wonderfully relaxing and luxurious experience with friendly customer service, which can be hard to find.

Plenty of food for the continental breakfast. Very comfortable building and rooms with convenient decoration.

The rooms here are beautiful and well-equipped with modern amenities like a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and a cozy rug.

The venue's position was very central.

My dog and I enjoyed being there. the location was fab, just a short stroll away from Market Place. 3. It was set in a very pleasant area. 4. the staff were caring and hospitable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely and charming hotel. the booked room was gorgeous and attractive with high ceilings. - Very central location really close to good restaurants. - It was in a great area. - the service was exceptional as I had expected. - I parked right outside.

Beautiful period hotel in fabulous setting in Nth Yorks Moors National Park. Comfortable room, friendly and attentive staff, and excellent food if you like a gourmet w/e - which was one of our reasons for re-visiting The Black Swan. Set in the market place of lovely town of Helmsley with plenty to see and do without going too far. Beautiful garden at the back and ample safe parking. We highly recommend it, worth every penny spent on this 5 Star Hotel. Fully intend coming again.

Couldn't fault anything other than the room decor which was verging on looking 'tired' but then maybe we do at our age! It cannot be easy keeping up the refurbishing of a hotel of this size and history. We love it as it is, complete with creaky floorboards.

Staying in a classical Yorkshire village square- location is wonderful.Food at the Swan is excellent. Service is attentive, polite, helpful and friendly.The best towels we have ever experienced at this grade/ level of hotel.

Long, narrow corridoors to get to rooms- no internet access in rooms? Stairway perhaps dangerous for older guests? also stairway/carpet on stairs grubby.

This place has a brand-new unit with an excellent comfortable bed, located in a very pleasant area very close to town square, the rosette starred restaurant, and other nearby pubs.
